About the Artist

Hirofumi Kasagi (傘木博文) is a Visual Effects artist with professional background in Art, Mathematics and Programming.

He is specialized in FX(Effects), CFX(Character Effects) and Crowd works for feature film, TV show, advertisement and game development. His focus is not only artistic field but also developing tools to work more effectively with his programing skills.

He graduated from the University of Aizu (Japan) with a bachelor degree in Computer Science and Engineering. And then he earned a 2nd bachelor degree from Academy of Art University(USA) with honors of Magna Cum Laude in Animation and Visual Effects major. He completed totally different field of academic study. Therefore he can achieve a goal with a flexible mindset from both art and science.

He has over 10 years of experience in Hollywood VFX industry. He contributed a lot of popular movies and TV shows, like “Top Gun: Maverick“, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales“, “Game of Thrones“, “Men in Black: International” and “Transformers: The Last Knight“. He also has many experience of developing VFX tools through the past projects.

He can speak Japanese(Native) and fluent English. He enjoys learning from different cultures and connecting to people from other countries. VFX industry attracts outstanding talents from all over the world. He think it’s his honor to work together with great artists who has different views and culture to achieve the best result.
